1. Crucifixion

The eagle symbolises the Trinity — Father, Son and Spirit — moving together, powerfully at work in our world.

Outside the walls of Jerusalem, Jesus and two men are crucified as the world moves on, indifferent. Yet the Trinity — symbolised here as the eagle — are powerfully present, even here, in the silence of death.
